Backup should not need a rack of its own. We build your backup on a cloud-first platform that sends data straight to secure off-site storage, so there is no backup appliance to buy, no backup server to patch and upgrade, and no separate cloud storage bill to reconcile. We protect physical and virtual servers, workstations, and the systems running on them, including Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange, Hyper-V, VMware, Oracle, MySQL, and full system state.

What makes cloud-first practical is how little data actually moves. TrueDelta tracks changes at the byte level and applies its own deduplication and compression, so a daily backup is a fraction of the size of the data it protects. That keeps backup windows short enough to run as often as every 15 minutes, and bandwidth throttling keeps backups from competing with your staff during business hours.

Your data is protected with AES 256-bit encryption in transit and at rest, under a private key that you create or that is generated for you at deployment. Cloud storage and long-term archiving are included rather than metered separately, held in ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certified data centers across four continents, and you choose the region your data stays in. For clients with data residency obligations, that choice is the whole point.

Different failures call for different recoveries, and the moment you are already down is the wrong time to discover the one you need costs extra. Every recovery method is included at no additional charge. For the everyday case — a deleted file, a corrupted document, a folder someone overwrote — you restore individual files and folders in minutes, and the optional Virtual Drive lets your team browse backups from an ordinary file browser.

For a failed server, bare-metal recovery writes the system back to hardware from bootable USB or CD media with no operating system in place beforehand. When the hardware itself is gone, virtual disaster recovery brings the system up as a virtual machine instead. Standby Image goes further: it keeps a continuously updated, ready-to-boot copy of a protected system in Hyper-V, VMware ESXi, a local VHDX, or Microsoft Azure, refreshed every time a backup runs — so recovery becomes a boot rather than a restore.

Where restore speed matters more than anything else, LocalSpeedVault keeps a second copy on storage you already own — a network share, a NAS, or a directly attached disk — alongside the cloud copy. A job that reports success every night can still be protecting the wrong volume, failing quietly on a locked database, or producing an image that will not boot — and the discovery usually happens on the worst day of the year.

Microsoft 365 Backup

Microsoft runs Microsoft 365; it does not back it up for you. Under the shared responsibility model, keeping a recoverable copy of your own mail, files, and sites is the customer's job. Retention policies and the recycle bin are not backups — they expire, and they will not help with a deletion discovered months later or an account that has since been removed.

We extend the same platform to Microsoft 365, covering Exchange mailboxes, OneDrive, and SharePoint data, with retention of up to seven years for clients carrying regulatory obligations. Deleted items stay recoverable long after Microsoft's own retention has lapsed, and restores are granular — a single mailbox or a single document, not an all-or-nothing rollback.

It runs from the same dashboard as your server and workstation backups, so there is one place to check and one place we report from. Cloud storage is included rather than billed separately, subject to fair-use limits, which keeps Microsoft 365 protection from becoming a line item that grows quietly in the background.

What is the difference between backup and disaster recovery?

Backup is the copy; disaster recovery is the plan for using it. Plenty of businesses have backups running and still lose a week to an outage, because nobody decided in advance which systems come back first, how long each one is allowed to take, or who makes the call. We handle both — the copies themselves, and the recovery path and priority order for each system so the decisions are already made when something fails.

How often are our systems backed up?

That is set per system based on how much work you can afford to redo. The platform supports backups as often as every 15 minutes, and because only changed data is sent, frequent backups do not mean long backup windows or saturated bandwidth. A file server with constant activity might run every 15 minutes while a stable application server runs nightly — we size it during onboarding rather than applying one schedule to everything.

How quickly can you get us running again after a server fails?

It depends on the system and the recovery method, which is exactly why we choose the method per system in advance. Restoring individual files takes minutes. A full bare-metal restore of a large server takes longer and depends on data volume. For systems where downtime is expensive, we keep a standby image — a ready-to-boot copy in Hyper-V, VMware, or Azure that is refreshed with every backup — so recovery is a boot instead of a restore. We agree those targets with you up front and design to them.

Do we need to buy a backup appliance or pay separately for cloud storage?

No to both. Backups go direct to cloud, so there is no local backup appliance to purchase, provision, or replace at end of life, and no backup server to patch. Cloud storage and long-term archiving are included rather than metered as a separate bill that grows every month. If you want faster local restores, we can add a second copy on storage you already own, but that is an option rather than a requirement.

Does Microsoft 365 already back up our email and files?

Not in the way most people assume. Microsoft guarantees the availability of the service, not the recoverability of your data from your own mistakes — that split is the shared responsibility model, and it is written into your agreement. Retention policies and the recycle bin expire, and they will not help with a deletion discovered months later or a departed employee whose account was removed. We back up Exchange mailboxes, OneDrive, and SharePoint separately, with retention of up to seven years and restores down to a single message or document.

Will our backups survive a ransomware attack?

That is the scenario the design is built around. Backups are stored off-site and isolated from your network by default as immutable copies, so ransomware that encrypts your servers cannot reach into the backup storage and encrypt the copies too — the failure mode that turns an incident into a catastrophe when backups sit on a mapped drive or an attached NAS. Access is restricted by role and protected with mandatory multi-factor authentication, and data is encrypted with AES 256-bit encryption in transit and at rest under your own private key.

How do we know our backups will actually restore?

Because we test them and show you the results. Automated recovery testing restores and boots protected systems on a schedule and captures a screenshot as proof they came back. A backup job that reports success can still be protecting the wrong volume or producing an image that will not boot, and testing is the only thing that catches it before an incident does.
